Anglo-Dutch company TCN Express Park Developments aims to regenerate 115 ha (284 acres) in a £100m development forecast to create more than 1,500 jobs.

The major scheme, situated in the borough's Manvers regeneration area, in the Dearne Valley, will include 471 homes, a leisure park - including extreme sports - a health club, family restaurants, bingo hall, crèche facilities, a hotel, nine-hole pay-and-play golf course and driving range, boating club house and several neighbourhood shops.

The project, due for completion in 2010, will also include a business park and a family-centric, food-led pub, the result of a £1m investment from Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries. The company will start work on the new farmhouse-style Pathfinder pub within the next few months.
