Public space scheme

A new layout and design for Rotherham's town centre streets, seating, lighting and the overall environment is currently being prepared by the urban designer Gillespies.

During the six week consultation exercise of the draft public  realm strategy over 200 comments were received. These have now been considered and appropriate changes have been incorporated into the document. To view this please click here. 

The council has now published a Scoping Report on the Sustainability Appraisal for the Public Realm Strategy which provides design guidance for existing streets, squares and spaces. Your comments are invite on these documents during a five week consultation period from January 12 to February 16, 2009. These documents can be downloaded:
