Renaissance projects

Guest & Chrimes

The old Guest & Chrimes site by the River Don in the town centre is one of the key areas for development.

Work started on creating the 1,6000 sq m (172,000 sq ft) new civic building in January 2010. Once completed in early 2012, the scheme will free exisiting council office sites throughout the town centre enabling alternative redevelopment to happen.

The development will form one of the most significant public sector property transactions outside of London in the last year. It will provide the town centre with a modern building, improve services for Rotherham people and the working environment for thousands of Borough Council staff.
